Ahlsell's acquisition of AB T. Idestrands with subsidiaries on January 4th has been approved by the Swedish competition authority.
The acquisition strengthens Ahlsell's leading position within the tools and machinery sector and increases our presence in the Göteborg, Malmö and Stockholm regions. It also extends the company's range to building products, thus creating an exciting growth segment for the group.
Idestrands sells tools and machinery as well as building products to professional users, and has a yearly turnover of approx. SEK 350 millions, and 90 employees. The company was founded in 1944: it has five branches and its headquarters are located in Stockholm.
The acquisition will take place on February 1st 2007, and it will have a positive impact on the group's result from 2007.
